AniManGaki Press Pass

AniManGaki would like to give working journalists/photographers over the age of 16 the chance to get media access throughout our event. All applications must be sent no later than 11th August, 2017.

The eligibility for a Press Pass may fall under one of the following categories;

Printed Media & Newswire Reporters

Individuals employed under an official media outlet must be able to present and provide:

  • A copy of your business card with name, title, and media outlet logo AND
  • A copy of your identification card, or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth, AND
  • A published article from your publication written by you and published within the last three (3) months (copy must clearly show the your name, publications and by-line), OR
  • A letter from your editor (official letter) verifying your assignment to cover the event and convention area; if an editor is not available, please submit a letter of intention explaining your purpose for attending the convention.

Freelance Journalists/Photographers

Individuals from societies, self-established firms or studios are required to register in order to qualify as media. We require that you provide:

  • A copy of your business card with your name and title (if any), AND
  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth, AND
  • A letter from a publisher, editor, or producer (on their letterhead) stating that you are covering AniManGaki on assignment, OR
  • A byline interactive entertainment industry-related article from a publication written by you and published within the last three (3) months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your by-line).

Online Reporters

Web sites must be previously established and updated regularly (at least every seven days) with original and current news, and have a minimum of 10,000 unique hits per month via Google or Facebook Analytics. Web sites such as blogs, news portals, or any site that provides coverage of Anime, Comics & Games (ACG) that fall under this category. To qualify as online media, please provide:

  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth, AND
  • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo (if any), AND
  • A physical copy of a URL to your online publication with your name and title appearing in a by-lined interactive entertainment industry-related article from your publication written by you and published within the last three months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your by-line), OR
  • A letter from your editor (on letterhead) verifying your assignment to cover the convention; if an editor is not available, submit a letter of intention explaining your purpose for attending the convention.

Broadcast (TV & Radio) Journalists & Photographers

Please provide:

  • A copy of your driver's license or government issued photo identification clearly showing your name and date of birth, AND
  • A copy of your business card with name, editorial title and media outlet's logo

AniManGaki understands that there are times when a team compromising of more than one individual will be assigned to cover the convention. However, as space is limited, each company is limited to a maximum of four total representatives. Please contact us for further information and consideration. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who should apply as media for AniManGaki?

AniManGaki press passes are for working journalists over the age of 16. If you have a website and wish to cover our event, you are already eligible for access. AniManGaki will review each application submitted, with the qualifications of the entries determined on a case-by-case basis by AniManGaki Public Relations Department. Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity, such as art directors, district managers, graphic designers, marketing, advertising, public relations, sales representatives, may not qualify for a press pass.

What should I bring?

Individuals and media outlets that have been approved by our department are required to present a photo ID to collect their respective press kit and passes. If you have yet to get approval or are a walk-in media representative, you will need to bring the materials as stated in the Press Pass categories above.

I have attended AniManGaki as media in the past. Do I have to apply again?

Yes. Starting from 2014, we have experimented on the different media outlets that have applied and approved as media at AniManGaki. From the feedback and cooperation of past media outlets, we are able to sieve through good content to be shared with our attendees, visitors and community. However, those would have fulfilled their part as media in the previous year will have a high chance of being invited to provide excellent coverage again.

How do I know if I am an approved AniManGaki Media?

After submitting your application, we will review each application with our team reviewing your credentials and verify your status. Once you have been accepted, an email will be sent for further instructions for your AniManGaki Press Pass application.

How do I collect my AniManGaki Press Passes?

Collection of press passes will commence at 9.00 am onwards, 27th August (Saturday morning), at the Media Registration booth. Please present identification if you have already registered online.

If you are unable to collect the passes close to the time stated, please contact us and inform on this matter so we may arrange an appropriate time for you to pick it up.

I missed the online registration. Is it still possible to register on-site?

Yes. Please bring a photo ID and the appropriate credentials to the Registration Counter. However, verifying your credentials is a must, and may be time-consuming. To avoid such cases, we highly advise on registering early for press passes online.

What is included with the Press Pass?

The AniManGaki press pass allows you to access both days and all the same areas of the convention as regular attendees, access any workshops or panels (subject to capacity), special media interviews with our guests may grant, and Media Access Only areas.

The press pass does NOT allow all-access to restricted areas. It does NOT allow you to skip lines, access areas that have reached their full capacity, after hour access, VIP Rooms or Staff-Only areas, unless accompanied or allowed entry beforehand from the management.

How do I change the information I have submitted or contact for further information on AniManGaki?

We highly advise on resubmitting another application through the online registration form. Any duplicates are found in our records, we will take the latest entry as the most current and valid submission.
