It was said by her mother that she has been singing ever since she was born, even when she was not aware that she was singing. That is how Kei Takebuchi’s story began.
She had spent a few years in the United States and Los Angeles. Being influenced by artists like Utada Hikaru, Shiina Ringo, Celine Dion, and Christina Aguilera, she started her journey as a vocalist with several bands from 2007.
In 2009, her band that was formed via a high-school light music club won the Kanagawa Prefecture tournament.
The same year saw her as one of the finalists out of 14,000 people competing at the vocalist world conference “Voice of McDonald’s” co-sponsored by SONY and McDonald’s. She also won 3rd place in Akasaka BLITZ.
These opportunities opened the door for her to join SD, and in 2010, became involved as a founding member of PlayYou.House, the predecessor of Goose house.
While focusing mainly on group activities, she also did a self-produced solo edition mini-album titled “Maika ~ my flower ~” in 2013 and a solo release in 2014 with another mini-album titled “KEI’s 8” under Sony Music Records.
In November 2018, after being the vocalist of Goose house for 8 years, Kei made the decision to move forward and focus on her career as a solo artist. Being very proud of what she had accomplished in Goose house, she is ready to take up the next challenge in her singing career.
